James Stevens MP Media Release: It’s expensive for Albo to try to look good

It’s expensive for Albo to try to look good

Analysis of Australian Government Tender records by the Opposition has revealed an explosion in taxpayer-funded advertising campaigns in an effort to make the Albanese Government look good.

Having completely given up on running the country well, Labor has resorted to splurging hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on tv commercials, radio ads and social media propaganda in a disgraceful attempt to buy positive media coverage in the lead up to the election.

“Clearly the Prime Minister has given up on trying to govern, instead resorting to wasting taxpayer funds on advertising campaigns to look like a good government, rather than actually being one.

“Hundreds of millions of dollars are being torched on advertising campaigns that promote ‘A Future Made in Australia’, ‘Supporting Australians’ and even the government's housing policy. None of this would be necessary if these programs were actually achieving what Labor promised they would.

“Anthony Albanese is trying to hoodwink Australians into thinking he actually has a plan to fix his cost-of-living crisis. Unfortunately for the Prime Minister, putting lipstick on a pig won’t fool the Australian people.

“Everyday Australians will be rightly infuriated to see more of their money being wasted on slick advertisements, while our country continues to go backwards under Labor,” Mr Stevens said.
