In the midst of summer holidays, I encourage all residents of the Sturt electorate to take full advantage of our outstanding parks and reserves. These cherished green spaces provide an opportunity to unwind, connect with nature, and spend quality time with family and friends.
Morialta Conservation Park is a standout gem, renowned for its waterfalls, rugged cliffs, and abundant wildlife. A hike along its walking trails rewards visitors with breathtaking views and the chance to spot koalas and kookaburras in their natural habitat.
For families, Hazelwood Park and Kensington Gardens Reserve provide ideal locations for a day outdoors. With open areas, playgrounds, and barbecue facilities, these parks are perfect for picnics and gatherings.
The Linear Park Trail, which follows the course of the River Torrens, is another highlight. This picturesque trail caters to both walkers and cyclists, offering a serene pathway through the heart of the electorate. It is a wonderful way to enjoy our natural surroundings while maintaining an active lifestyle.
Our parks and reserves are treasures of the Sturt community, enhancing our lifestyle and wellbeing. Kids can spend far too much time behind their screens, so let’s take every opportunity to get them out and about over the school holidays.
