I am pleased to announce that a Coalition Government will commit $3 million towards a major upgrade at the Campbelltown City Soccer Club’s home ground at the Steve Woodcock Sports Centre. This commitment will fund the construction of a new full-sized synthetic pitch and essential lighting upgrades across multiple pitches, ensuring that the club has the facilities it needs to continue thriving.
As one of the leading soccer clubs in our community, the club has a rich history of fostering talent, promoting participation, and delivering outstanding results on and off the field.
The addition of a new full-sized synthetic pitch at Pitch 5 will complement the existing main pitch, allowing the club to accommodate international and national events, as well as local competition, training, and grassroots participation.
In addition to the new pitch, our commitment will also fund lighting upgrades across five pitches at the Steve Woodcock Sports Centre. These improvements will allow for greater flexibility in scheduling matches and training, ensuring that players of all levels can train and compete in a safe and well-lit environment while also providing better conditions for supporters to get behind their team.
This funding commitment is a demonstration of the Coalition’s support for grassroots sport and community infrastructure. We recognise the vital role that clubs like Campbelltown City Soccer Club play in fostering talent and strengthening community connections. By investing in better facilities, we are ensuring that Sturt remains a hub for football excellence and community engagement for years to come.
I look forward to working alongside the club, the Campbelltown City Council, and the broader community to deliver this exciting project.
