I am pleased to announce that a Coalition Government will commit $350,000 to upgrade the football oval lighting at PNUFC’s home of Payneham Oval. This investment will ensure the club has high-quality, energy-efficient lighting that enhances player safety, training, matches and community access while also reducing emissions and lowering operational costs.
Local sporting clubs are the backbone of our community, providing opportunities for people of all ages to stay active, build friendships, and develop important life skills. PNUFC has a rich history and plays a vital role in fostering local talent and community spirit. By improving its facilities, we are investing in the future of grassroots sport in our community.
The upgraded lighting will include four new 30-metre light poles and new footings, which will incorporate energy-saving technology and emission-reduction measures, ensuring a sustainable solution for the club and the wider community. The use of 30-metre poles will also help reduce the amount of obtrusive light into neighbouring properties and improve the overall uniformity of the light around the oval.
This new design and installation will achieve an outstanding outcome, totally transforming the space at night and enabling greater accessibility and opportunities for all those who use Payneham Oval.
The Coalition recognises the importance of backing local sporting clubs and the volunteers who work tirelessly to keep them running.
I will continue to advocate for investment in our local sporting infrastructure and look forward to working with PNUFC and local stakeholders to see these upgrades come to life under a future Coalition Government.
