Anzac Day, the 25th of April, is a day of national remembrance of all Australians who have served our nation in conflict.
This year marks the 107th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings, and each year Australians come together at commemorative services held at dawn – the time of the original landing at Gallipoli – across the nation.
This Monday I am encouraging Sturt residents to join me in attending a local dawn service to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have fought and died for our country.
Below is a list of dawn services being held in Sturt and nearby:
If you are unable to attend, you can also tune in to the Australian War Memorial Dawn Service which will be broadcast live on ABC TV, ABC iView, Radio National, ABC Local Radio or on the Australian War Memorial's Facebook Page from 5.00am.
The Veterans' March will be broadcast on ABC TV and ABC iView from 9.00am.
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
