Busting congestion in our suburbs

If you drive along Fullarton Road, you will have noticed the progress on major upgrades to the intersections at Glen Osmond and Cross Roads. Both intersections are due to be completed in the coming months and will make a significant contribution to congestion busting in our local area.

I was proud to have secured $17.5 million through the Commonwealth Urban Congestion Fund to upgrade the Glen Osmond Road and Fullarton Road intersection. This project will improve travel times and road safety for users, increase intersection capacity and enhance network reliability into the future.

The $30.5 million of Commonwealth funding to widen roads, indent bus stops and upgrade pedestrian crossings at the Fullarton Road & Cross Road intersection will similarly bust congestion and improve travel times.

These projects are in addition to the now completed Magill Road & Portrush Road intersection upgrade.

It is important to see these congestion busting projects happen, so that we are continuing to keep up with growing road use and reduce traffic bottlenecks.
