It is an exciting time to be in South Australia as the federal government invests in jobs of the future that will establish us as a state of innovation and industry.

Cyber

Cyber is a growing industry and as part of the Adelaide City Deal, Lot Fourteen is now home to the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre which assists business to understand and navigate the cyber specialists ecosystem to address their specific cyber needs.

Renewables

The Morrison Government’s Long Term Emissions Reduction Plan is an exciting opportunity for Australia to position itself as a leader in low emissions technology and create new jobs for industry. Through the $20 billion investment in clean hydrogen, carbon capture and other low emissions technology, it is projected that 62,000 new jobs will be created in regional mining and heavy industry while increasing national income per person by $2,000 in 2050.

Space

South Australia has become the hub of Australia’s growing space industry. Included in the Lot Fourteen precinct is the headquarters of the Australian Space Agency, SmartSat CRC, Mission Control and the Space Discovery Centre. The Australian Space Agency is central to the Government’s vision to secure more jobs and a larger share of the growing space economy, which is forecast to be worth over $1 trillion globally by 2040. The Federal Government plans to triple the size of the sector in Australia to $12 billion, adding 20,000 new jobs by 2030.

SA Film Corp

South Australia’s film industry is thriving with the support of the South Australian Film Corporation. Hollywood blockbusters like the recent Mortal Kombat film are being produced in Sturt at the South Australian Film Corporation studios in Glenside, as well as a number of other big budget productions. Creative industries are a growing sector in South Australia, contributing $1.2 billion to the local economy and providing employment for more than 15,000 South Australians.

The $649 million Adelaide City Deal will boost the South Australian economy, centred around the Lot Fourteen innovation and culture precinct at the old Royal Adelaide Hospital site, adjacent to the Sturt electorate.
