A re-elected Morrison Government will provide $5 million to the Campbelltown City Council to deliver the Campbelltown Urban Village project, improving the amenity of the shopping area’s public realm, the streetscape of Lower North East Road and the safety of footpaths.
This project will not just deliver improvements to the area, but will also unlock economic benefits for local businesses.
Campbelltown has a growing population, and this funding will better service our community and revitalise the precinct.
Campbelltown has a deep connection to a rich market gardening history, and this project seeks to provide public artworks through pride of place and heritage.
It will also encourage alternate transport methods for safer and more enjoyable pedestrian and cycle access, combined with improved accessibility through new footpath construction.
Importantly, this project also promotes urban greening through the creation of quality public open space complimenting the planting of more street trees.
The Morrison Government continues to deliver for the Sturt community, and this is part of our local plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
More information on the project can be found at the Campbelltown City Council website here.
