Housing Affordability Inquiry

Housing Affordability Inquiry

29 Nov 2021

I currently serve on the Standing Committee on Tax and Revenue and we are undertaking an inquiry into housing affordability and supply in Australia.

The Inquiry will be looking into how the current tax and regulatory environment contributes to increasing the difficulty for young Australians to purchase their first home.

It is a fundamental belief of the Liberal Party that every Australian should have the opportunity to buy their own home. Sir Robert Menzies identified the home as “a stake in the country” for the burgeoning middle class. In this spirit, I look forward to completing this inquiry and making recommendations that will help to make the housing market more accessible for young Australians struggling to purchase their first home.
